A lot of people I know like to compare how much money they make, what fancy stuff they own and what new car they’re driving. But the one thing I never hear them discussing amongst themselves is what their credit score is like. Credit is becoming more and more important these days with everyone from landlords to potential employers wanting to take a peak at your score. That’s right, most employers now require a credit check as part of the pre-employment screening process.
I know that I’m pretty proud of my credit score but I’ve worked hard for it. I’ve gotten myself added as an authorized user, opened multiple no fee credit cards at a young age to establish credit and started all sorts of different lines of credits ranging from student loans and credit cards to a mortgage. Most of that work that I put in is finally starting to pay dividends and my score has remained in the mid 700’s for a few years now.
One of the most common questions that comes up on this blog is: “How can I get a better credit score?” And that question is asked by beginners and experienced investors alike. It’s nice to see that people are starting to realize what an impact your score can have on your day to day life and are doing something about it.
That inspired me to share this infographic below dealing with credit scores. The infographic goes into detail about the four main superheroes and how their credit score stacks up against one another. Obviously the numbers are fictional but it does provide some food for thought for all of us normal beings out there.
