Life insurance is one of the most important ways to secure your family’s financial future. But don’t worry; if you’ve never taken the time to look into life insurance for yourself, you’re not alone. Many people never even sign up for life insurance due to all the hassles that sometimes go along with it. Often, there are countless forms to fill out, sales people to deal with and various medical tests that need to be performed.
I actually receive life insurance through my employer so all I have to do is select the level of coverage I want and I’m done. Unfortunately though, I can only select 2 times my annual salary without being forced into getting a medical exam. But there are several companies like Real Insurance that now offer life insurance without a medical exam.
Choosing the Right Insurance Provider
Most insurance companies know the importance of life insurance and they try to make it as easy as possible for you to sign up. Of course, they’ll still require you to input all of your pertinent medical information, but there won’t be any obtrusive poking and prodding like at a doctor’s office if you go with a company that requires no medical exam.
Life insurance providers should offer a variety of products: everything from life insurance to income protection services. And most insurance companies that have a proven track record will be able to offer good value prices and customer service to match.
Choosing the Right Insurance
When you call up your local insurance office, it’s best to know exactly what you’re looking for. Do your research ahead of time so that you know exactly what type of product you’re in the market for. Here are some tips for choosing the right type of insurance:
- Make sure that your coverage is adequate for your lifestyle. Don’t skimp out on the policy you need so that your premiums will be lower.
- Match the term with your needs. If you want the policy to last until your kids are all grown up or until your retirement kicks in, make sure you choose the policy that suits you.
- The earlier the better. The younger you are, the healthier you’re likely to be, which makes it easier for you to qualify for life insurance. But if you wait too long and your health deteriorates, you may have to pay higher premiums or may not qualify for life insurance at all.
- Don’t lie. If you get life insurance with no medical and you’re thinking about lying to get the lowest rates, don’t. If a claim is ever made, the insurance company will investigate it so make sure that your application is truthful.
Buying life insurance has never been easier, the internet has opened up a wide variety of resources for you to shop, compare and choose the plan that’s right for you. Back in the day, you would have to fill out countless forms, visit a doctor for a full exam and then wait weeks to see if you were approved. Today, you can get a quote in your pyjamas from the comfort of your own home and know that your future is safe.
The internet really has made it easier to get life insurance quotes and I know that I wouldn’t be caught dead without life insurance so don’t wait!
Readers, what do you think about getting life insurance? Have you postponed it or was it one of the first things you did once you started working?
