You have all heard of eBay and Craigslist; sites to help you sell your old phones, tablets, and other electrical and non-electrical devices, right?
Well, there are some pros and cons about these kind of sites – for example, let’s take a quick look at the cons of eBay:
- You aren’t guaranteed to sell the phone
- You have fees to pay to list your phone and when it sells (including PayPal)
- Even if your phone sells the buyer may not pay
- You are risking getting less for your phone using an auction system
Now for Craigslist:
- You could get mugged
- You might get haggled down on your own doorstep
- Your phone may take ages to sell
So what alternative is there to these?
Well, this is where a comparison site for phone buyers comes in very handy, and a site I have recently spotted in the news is SellCell.com who do just that.
So what is different with SellCell, I hear you ask me?
Let’s take a quick look:
- No advertising fees
- A fixed price for your phone
- Quick payment
- No time spent setting up an add
- No need to leave your house
- Best prices possible
Pretty cool, huh?
I usually sell my phones through the likes of eBay in all honesty, but I decided to give the comparison site a try and ended up making slightly more money back on 3 iPhones that I parted ways with. Overall I received $456 and the process took about a week from me sending the phone and receiving my check.
So How Does it Work?
It’s quite a quick and simple process if you are thinking about selling your phone or tablet to them. The first thing you will need to know is the make and model of your phone so you enter it into the search box on the homepage. You will also need to know the GB storage and the carrier to get an exact price.
Once you have this information you will need to check a few boxes to get a final price, these boxes just ask for the condition your phone is in and whether you will be sending anything with the phone (accessories).
You will then be presented with prices that buyers are willing to pay for that phone, what payment options they provide, and the time it will take to release payment after the phone has been checked over.
You then package your phone up to send in the mail, using the details that the buyer sends through to your email address and viola! That’s really all there is to it.
