We have three major holidays coming up in the couple of months left of 2014 – Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each one of these involves a lot of spending – on costumes, candy, turkey and stuffing, and finally the Christmas dinner and the gifts for our loved ones. Here are some tips that can help you survive these with no major dents in your budget, and maybe save you some money for a great New Year’s party.
1. Halloween
The scariest holiday in the world is closing in fast, so better get prepared to be invaded by vampires, zombies, superheroes and other costumed characters showing up at your doorstep in search for some delicious treats. You should treat them with standard, store-bought candy – there is an increasing reservation about home made treats – but when it comes to guests coming to your house to celebrate Halloween, you don’t have to hold back.
There are some very tasty and easy to make treats you can spice up your Halloween party with. Here is an example: take an orange, carve a scary face into its peel, add a piece of a celery stalk on top and you have a nice, miniature and edible Jack’o Lantern at your hand. Another easy one: make a Jack’o
Lantern pattern into a slice of cheddar cheese (the bright orange colored one), place it on top of a slice of white bread, and you have a tasty cheese sandwich ready with a Halloween decoration on it.
2. Thanksgiving
We have plenty of time left to prepare for the Thanksgiving dinner, and this is the perfect time to start making the preparations. Some ingredients necessary for the dishes you plan to serve can be bought well in advance – including the turkey, if you have a big enough freezer. Besides, you can save on the Thanksgiving decorations by simply doing them yourself using raw materials that are always at hand – fallen leaves, branches, pine cones and some candles, for example. Get creative and save.
3. Christmas
Speaking of Thanksgiving – Black Friday comes just a day after the holiday, so better start preparing for it in time. This is a “shopping event” that has loads of incredible sales, mostly in land-based shops, so if you want to catch some really exciting promotions better get prepared for wrestling the crowd in shopping craze. If you are not into shopping in real life, you can wait for Cyber Monday sales – these are online, so you can order from the comfort of your home, while playing at Red Flush (Red Flush Mobile Casino is the best mobile casino to play at). The sales usually start at midnight, so prepare a good cup of coffee!
