From ultra-modern working environments to classic Victorian buildings, some of the world’s coolest companies are moving their employees into even cooler office buildings.
Thanks to London Offices, we’ve tracked down six of the world’s coolest offices for your viewing – and one day, even working – pleasure.
1. Google’s Covent Garden Office, London
Known for its bizarre collection of meeting rooms and relaxation spaces, Google’s new office in London’s Covent Garden is one of the quirkiest, and coolest, that we have ever seen.
The unusual working environment features ‘padded cell’ meeting rooms, a rooftop garden with stunning views of London, and a series of unique and quirky spaces for employees to use for solo work and brainstorming.
2. XL Group’s Victorian Office, Dublin
When most of us hear the word ‘insurance’, we think of boring beige office buildings in the middle of a commercial hotspot city. XL Group’s Dublin office fights back with a stylish interior that blends modern design and Victorian era aesthetics.
After buying a protected structure, the company faced a dilemma: how could their new office keep its Victorian theme while still being modern? The answer: decorate the new office using a mixture of Victorian and ultra-modern equipment.
3. Lloyd’s Eye-Catching Office, London
Lloyd’s of London’s corporate headquarters is an interesting piece of urban design and architecture. The building, which has been branded as ‘inside out’ by locals, is home to over 700 employees.
With an incredible atrium that travels almost the entire length of the building and a network of criss-crossing escalators, Lloyd’s of London’s corporate headquarters is just as inspiring on the inside as it is from the street.
4. HSBC’s Famous Office Complex, Hong Kong
After decades of colonial office buildings, Hong Kong’s biggest bank decided on the polar opposite for its latest office. Built in 1985, the HSBC Main Building is a quirky addition to Hong Kong’s crowded skyline.
Like the Lloyd’s office in London, HSBC’s Hong Kong office has been described as an ‘inside out office’ by some designers. The building features several huge escalators travelling from the lobby all the way to the upper floors.
5. Corus Entertainment’s Worker Playground, Toronto
Toronto’s Corus Entertainment office is equal parts workplace and playground. The gigantic office complex, which houses over 1,000 staff members, includes a slide and special ice hockey themed tables.
6. Missing Link’s ‘Off the Wall’ Offices, Johannesburg
