The holidays are coming up fast, which means extra expenses for food, decorations, and gifts. Obviously, planning ahead is the best way to make sure you have enough money for everything.
Start your gift list in January and your holiday budget as well. Both can be adjusted as needed throughout the year. At the same time, by getting started early you’ll be more prepared and less stressed once Christmas draws near.
Still, if you’re late to plan for the extras the holiday season brings, an “I told you so” isn’t going to help. Fortunately, there are plenty of ideas to make money quickly before Christmas and solve the lack of money problem.
1. Shovel Snow
If you happen to live where it snows often, cash in on it and make money before Christmas. Advertise through social media that you will shovel for others the next time it snows. You may also be able to put flyers up at local stores near where you live to further increase your business.
2. Shop for Others
During the holiday season there’s always lots of extra time consuming activities, such as shopping. Offer to help others with their holiday shopping to shorten their “To Do” lists and make money at the same time.
3. Wrap Gifts
Another holiday activity that takes additional time is wrapping gifts. In addition, some people simply aren’t very good at it. Both scenarios can help you make money before Christmas. Again, advertise your availability and that you’ll keep quiet about who’s getting what.
Do you have a knack for decorating? That just one more way you can make money before Christmas. Start by decorating your own house and taking pictures. Next, post the pictures on social media and let everyone know you can help them decorate too, for a fee.
Holiday baking for others can help you to have money for your own Christmas needs. Make some tasty, pretty holiday treats and post pictures online. For extra enticement, give away small morsels as free samples. Then, take orders and start raking in the extra cash.
6. Walk Dogs or Pet Sit
If you have a way with animals, use that to your advantage and earn some fast money before the holidays. Offer to take care of a pet for a family member or friend and get a recommendation afterward. Then, advertise that you’re available and have references.
7. Clean Houses
When you’re good at cleaning and don’t mind doing it, you could use that to your benefit. Try cleaning homes or business in your spare time to make extra Christmas money.
Babysitting is a fun way to help other people and earn extra income. Additionally, if you have kids, you can give them someone to play with and make money at the same time.
9. Rent a Room
Have you ever considered renting out an extra room in your home to make money? If you have a room that isn’t being used, why not use it to make money before Christmas?
10. Drive Your Car
You can drive your car for an additional source of income if you need money before Christmas. Check out Uber or Lyft and get started driving for money in no time.
11. Take Surveys
To make money from home, look at some of the survey sites available on the internet. You can fit them in no matter what kind of schedule you have, and there are new ones just about every day.
12. Mend Clothing
Sewing is a skill you can use to make money before Christmas too. If you have experience, and a sewing machine, there’s always someone who needs and article of clothing repaired.
There are always lots of extras to buy when the holidays roll around. Fortunately, there are also plenty of ideas to help you make money before Christmas so you can pay for them.

How do you plan to come up with extra money for Christmas this year?
These are some good suggestions. I don’t think I could handle them on a daily basis but as a kid, I used to make a ton of money shoveling snow. Hard work was taught early.
Yes, some of them are hard work. But for those with time on their hands, some could be a great way to earn extra money. Thanks for your comments!
